Tina Fey Wins Best Actress for 30 Rock

tina-feyTina Fey won the best actress award in a comedy series and writing for a comedy series for 30 Rock on Sunday at the 60th Annual Emmy Awards.

“I’m very proud to be a writer. I wouldn’t have had any of the other jobs I’ve had if I hadn’t been a writer,” Fey gushed.

Fey and her pregnant Baby Mama costar Amy Poehler, took a shot at Eva Longoria Parker before presenting Jeremy Piven with best supporting actor in a comedy series.

“When are you due?” Fey asked Poehler, Poehler responded, “that’s so rude, I just gained weight for a role.”

Longoria recently denied pregnancy speculation by saying that she had to gain weight for her role on Desperate Housewives.

Despite all presenters being told not to mention the current election, some found a way to sneak in some references.

Brad, Angelina Set Guinness World Record: Most Powerful Couple

According to the Guinness World Record, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the Most Powerful Couple. Angelina Jolie has been named Most Powerful Actress in the 2009 edition of the Guinness World Records. Angelina jointly held the title with Jennifer Aniston last year.

This time, Brad Pitt has called Most Powerful Actor, after Tom Cruise, who has held for four consecutive years. Britney Spears was named Most Searched Person on the Internet, after Paris Hilton, who earned the honor last year.

And Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus set the record for Highest Grossing Movie of a Music Tour. This movie earned $53.4 million in just two weeks. Oprah Winfrey earned the title of Highest Annual Earnings by a TV Talk Show Host  with $225 million.

Katy Perry to Perform Like a Virgin at VMAs

British comic Russell Brand disclosed that singer Katy Perry will perform Like a Virgin at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

He said at the Paramount Pictures that it means there will be a lot of virginity and lesbianism at the show.

As the news that Brand dubbed the Jonas Brothers God’s favorite virgins. And it will explain the concept of an afterlife seem tame by comparison.

The Jonas Brother will have to face the competition from Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera is also going to perform her new single Keeps Getting Bette, the best-of album releasing in November.

Aguilera said that she’ll come with a new look and a new voice, and this album is all about the future.

It’s also disclosed that after doing a cameo in the Jonas Brothers concert film, Joe Jonas and Swift have getting close.

Hollyoaks Stars Shine At British Soap Awards

Chester’s famous fictional suburb of Hollyoaks leds the way at the awards ceremony on Saturday after the programme walked away with six gongs at The British Soap Awards 2008.
Roxanne McKeeChannel 4’s drama saw its stars Chris Fountain and Emma Rigby – the soap’s Justin Burton and Hannah Ashworth - named best actor and actress at the glitzy London ceremony.

Winning the sexiest female award for two conjugative time, the soap’s Roxanne McKee said the gritty storylines of Hollyoaks were finally getting the recognition they deserved.

“This year we have tackled anorexia, incest and I have been in a murder case,” said the pretty brunette, who stars as Louise Kennedy. “We tackle those issues in a 6.30pm slot which is very hard for the writers, who do a brilliant job.”

The residents of Weatherfield also had plenty to cheer. ITV’s Coronation Street took home five awards, including a lifetime achievement gong for Liz Dawn, who left the soap earlier this year.

Megan Fox crowned sexiest woman in FHM list

Megan Fox According to FHM magazine,Megan Fox is the sexiest woman in the world. The “Transformers” co-star tops FHM’s annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll of FHM readers. The 21-year-old model-actress beat out the likes of Angelina Jolie (No. 12), Rihanna (No. 14), Kim Kardashian (No. 17), Paris Hilton (No. 77) and last year’s champion, Jessica Alba (No. 3).

Fox was first time on the annual list in 2006 at No. 68 and than, ranked at No. 65 in 2007. Joining her in the top 10 this year are( in descending order) Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Elisha Cuthbert, Scarlett Johansson, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Hilary Duff, Tricia Helfer, Blake Lively and Kate Beckinsale. Britney Spears came in last place at No. 100.

Author McCabe among IMPAC nominees

Winterwood’ by Irish author Patrick McCabe is among eight books shortlisted for this year’s International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.

‘Winterwood’ is full of raucous humour and savage satire. It taps deep into the old, dark, unseen places below the shiny surface of modern Ireland. It is McCabe’s most disturbing, original and accomplished novel yet.

The list was shortlist from a longlist of 137 novelists from 45 countries writing in 15 languages.

Among the other titles are three works of fiction set in the Middle East, as well as books by Russian, Spanish and Sri Lankan authors.

The IMPAC Award, which was initiated in 1994, managed by Dublin City Libraries and is worth €100,000 .It is the world’s most valuable literary prize for a single work of fiction published in English. Four of the final eight books are published in translation.

Works are nominated by participating libraries and can be written in any language provided it has also been published in English. Some 161 libraries in 121 cities nominated works.

Ne-Yo the Grammy Award winner R&B also known for his hit song “So Sick”, in Aprilneyo

he will give a taste of his brand to Seoul. At the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, southern Seoul, April 6, both Jamaican reggae singer Sean Kingston and Ne-yo will come up together for the concert Groove 2008.

The single “Let Me Love You” became a hit, that song was written by Ne-Yo.

He started his career as a song writer in 1999. Ne-Yo’s real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith. He’s also written songs for Youngstown, Christina Milian and Mario.

In the first week of 2006, Ne-Yo’s debut album “In My Own Words” 301,000 Copies were sold. The album single “So Sick” was a big hit, the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Over four million copies were sold around the world.

His reputation also grew as a hit songwriter. The biggest he gave was R&B superstar Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable.” It spotted at the number one position on Billboard Hot 100 for 10 weeks. Also the other hits he wrote was Rihanna’s ``Unfaithful,” Mario Vasquez’s “Gallery” and Paula Deana’s ``Walk Away.” Not only as a solo artist but also as a song writer his reputation grew in the music Industry.

After the success , Ne-Yo again came with a hit number with his second album that released singles last year “Because of You,” “Do You” and “Can We Chill” With Japanese pop star Utada Hikaru, a version of “Do You” was released by him.

He also worked with other artists, such as Fabolous on “Make Me Better” and Rihanna with “Hate That I Love You.”
