A close source confirmed that Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer.

According to the source, the cancer is not life threatening, and she was benefitting from early detection through MRI.

Christina is doing a full recovery as recommended by her doctors.

When Christina Applegate was only seven years old, her mother is also a breast cancer survivor, and was diagnosed first time.

Applegate said that it was a very panic for my mother to lose her one breast, and its type of cancer personally affects the women.

Applegate will appear on September 5 with Meryl Streep, Jennifer Aniston Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, and Sally Field at the Stand Up to Cancer telethon.

Breast cancer is currently the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women in the 15-54 age group.
