The 2008 ALMA Awards is among the most high-profile events on the Latino calendar, and it is so interesting that glamorous Eva Longoria was hosting this event this weekend.

But the Desperate Housewives star actress didn’t disappoint, because there are so much star-studded crowd in a series of different outfits and hairdos.

She enjoyed her role as host, and dance along to a performance by the Black Eyed Peas.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera and Hips Don’t Lie songstress Shakira were also making an impact on the night.

Colombian chanteuse Shakira was honoured for her humanitarian efforts, and America scooped the coveted entertainer of the year gong for her role in the hit comedy.

During the awards show, Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba revealed her new role as mum to two-month-old Honor suits her down to the ground.

She said that she wanted to have as many children as my body will allow her, and she would adopt if she still want more children after that.
